We are a conducting a research study examining possible factors that influence whether or not undergraduate students choose a technology-related major. We are interested in input from all students, regardless of chosen major.
We invite you to participate in this study by taking an online survey found at https://csedresearch.org/redcap/surveys/?s=LYHCJJK4CA . The survey will be open from April 26, 2021 through May 17, 2021 and will take approximately 10 minutes of your time. In addition, we are looking to follow up with participants with one-on-one interviews. These interviews are optional, and you can choose to opt-in for an interview via an answer to one of the questions in the survey.
The first 200 participants who complete the survey and provide an email address will be compensated with a $5 Amazon gift card. In addition, once you complete the survey, you may enter a drawing to win one of ten (10) $50 Amazon gift cards. We expect the survey to be completed by 1,000 people so that your odds of being selected as the winner of the drawing are 1/200. The survey will close in May 2021, and the drawing will be conducted in June 2021.
If you choose to opt-in for a one-on-one personal interview and you are selected (randomly from those interested in participating), you will be additionally compensated with a $30 Amazon gift card.
Your participation in this study is voluntary and optional. If you choose not to participate or to withdraw from the study at any time, there will be no penalty. The results of the research study may be published, but no personally identifying information will be used. For the initial survey, descriptive statistics may be published. For the interviews, anecdotes and quotes from the interviews may be published with pseudonyms, but your name or any identifying information will not be used. Pseudonyms will be used in both the transcriptions of the interview and in the final report.
