Christmas Trees 2024

Back to 2023 – Ahead to 2025 (coming soon)

All of the trees made it up this year with days to spare – everyone was nestled into place by December 22nd.  Grand total this year: 51 (52 if you count my daughter’s camera-shy tree).

The Line-Up (all the trees close up)

Closeups of trees First up a new setup downstairs near the front door.

Multi-color foil tree (#1) with silver ornaments. The Mr. & Mrs. Claus on the table lived a long time in my parents’ living room. The angels were made by Eric’s grandpa Decker.

Moving into the family room – two little brown trees (#2 and #3) – a collection of Santas and all of Santa’s reindeer, some other North Pole friends, and some vintage-looking Christmas friends.

Candy cane tree with green ornaments (#4):

The snoopy tree (#5) hiding out underneath the candy cane tree:

The red tree with gold ornaments (#6):

The penguin tree (#7) – with some new friends this year – and a new discovery, these penguins have names: Wendel, Waddles and Wade!

The rainbow tree (#8):

The new Bruce (Blue Spruce) (#9) whose theme is purple, teal, white, and black. The original Bruce had to be retired at the end of last year due to electrical issues caused by a series of very eager German Shepherd puppies.

And finishing out the family room is the blue tree (white with blue ornaments) (#10), slowly being taken over by Cinderella ornaments. May be called the Cinderella tree soon.

Moving to the dining room – we will start with the 12! (#11-22) small trees in rainbow colors and pastel rainbow colors. They are living this year under our new display table. However, you couldn’t see them very well down there. Working towards a new solution for next year.

On the top of the new table lives several more small trees, the tree with assorted mini ornaments (#23), the Twelve Days of Christmas tree (#24) and the mini Wizard of Oz ornament tree (#25).

And last on that table is the lime green with 80s icons ornaments (#26). Perhaps my favorite new one this year is the Oregon Trail ornament (more visible in the previous picture). Special because I, of course, used to play, but also because it was one of the centerpieces of a grant I worked on about preserving historic games.

Moving onto the floor, we have the Sesame Street tree (#27):

Followed by the the snow tree (#28):

And the Bills tree (#29):

And finally the tree that used to be in our son’s room (#30):

On to the biggest tree in the collection (#31) our Disney and assorted other characters tree. This tree is also new replacing our original (of equivalent size) that had two decades of love from us and possibly a few more from Eric’s aunt. First the Muppets side:

And the purely Disney movie side:

On the other side of the dining room, we have the pastel rainbow tree (#32):

Very pleased to have my grandmother’s nativity set out for the first time in a few years. The puppies are sufficiently old enough now that we feel it is safe to display again. Behind it is the purple tree with hot pink ornaments (#33) and small white tree with winter friends (#34).

Belle tree (#35):

And last one downstairs – bronze tree in office with animal ornaments (#36):

Moving upstairs: Our bedroom: pink and purple (#37 and #38), and the Mickey shaped ornament tree (#39).

Now into the upstairs foyer and the Wizard of Oz tree (#40) from two perspectives.
