Christmas Trees 2023

Back to 2022 – Ahead to 2024

We are definitively down two trees this year that just didn’t get put up (Wizard of Oz and puppies tree), but the grand total for this year is 45, but only 44 decorated – you can read on for why one is up and not decorated.

Overview photos first. Upstairs overview:

Dining room:

The Line-Up (all the trees close up)

Did my best to capture all the trees (lit and unlit) in closeup.

Two little brown trees (#1 and #2) – they have a collection of Santas and all of Santa’s reindeer and some other North Pole friends.

Candy cane tree (#3).

Blue spruce with teal and purple lights (#4). This is the first tree we ever bought (after Christmas sale at Michael’s for $25 in 2002). It originally had all clear lights, but my dad painstakingly changed out bulbs so that they are purple, teal, white, and opaque white. It has coordinating ornaments (blue, teal, purple), but also black or white. In recent years, the white seems to dominate, but if you look closely, you can find the Santa in blue and purple holding animals that actually inspired the tree (about midway down). Unfortunately, due to structural issues, “Bruce” as this tree is affectionately known as in our house has probably seen its last Christmas. We are currently on the hunt for a new Bruce.

Penguin Tree (#5).

Rainbow tree (#6). New LED lights this year.

Red tree with gold ornaments (#7).

White with red and green ornaments (#8). This one rotates with another so it’s only out every other year, but the ornaments are out every year, just in different places.

Tree #9 is the mini Wizard of Oz.

Twelve Days of Christmas is #10

Green Tree with Mini Ornaments is #11

Hiding underneath is #12 – lime green with icons of the 80s.

Side view of that lime tree

Little Sesame Tree (#13)

Turquoise Snow tree (#14)

Bills tree (#15) – lots of new Bills ornaments this year.

Blue tree with ornaments that remind me of our son (#16). Moved the series of parent/child snowman ornaments to this tree this year. The series started the same year he was born and I sort of think of it as his series.

Number 17 is the first tree we ever decorated. We received it the first year we were married (now 21 years ago) from my husband’s aunt. It is still one of my favorites because of the ornaments that we put on it – Disney and lots of other memories of me as a kid and our kids. Two views of this one because of the sheer number of ornaments. First the “left” side.

And now the “right” side.

Pastel Rainbow Tree (#18).

Another view of that tree.

Small purple tree with hot pink and purple ornaments (#19).

Small white winter tree with winter friends (#20). And the new rainbow foil tree with no ornaments because not sure what to put on it yet. So does it count? I’ll let you decide.

Beauty & the Beast Tree (#21).

The last trees that are downstairs this year are the mini trees in rainbow colors. We have the bold rainbow colors (#22-#27) and the pastel rainbow colors (#28-#33).

Traveling upstairs, we can see #34 (purple with silver), #35 (Mickey ornament display tree), and #36 (pink with gold) from our bedroom.

Out on the landing, we will move left to right. First is the silver tree with color wheel (#37).

Blue tree with blue ornaments (#38).

Black tree with silver ornaments (#39).

Lilac tree (#40). This tree is basically two-sided so there is a side with purple ornaments and a side with lime green ornaments.

Pink tree with pink lights and pink ornaments (#42).

Little pink tree with purple ornaments (#43).

Small royal blue with ornaments that are favorite childhood toys and games (#44).

This is small black to silver Ombre tree (#45) with what seems to only be Barbie ornaments, but the truth is that the tree started out for ornaments that have bright yellow, hot pink, orange, etc. Colors that didn’t fit well with the other trees. Many of the Barbies fit that criteria, but you’ll see Barbie ornaments on almost all the trees.

And last is #46 in the office – Star Wars.
